Creative Career

  • Adjunct Professor
    Fall 2008 - Present. Adjunct professor at Western Kentucky University (WKU), teaching English 100, 200, and 300, as well as a creative writing course (E203) every now and then. For many semesters, I taught a night class on campus and (at least) one class online using Blackboard. Nowadays, I teach exclusively online.

The Writer's Loft

  • Founder
    In the fall of 2003, with the significant help of many friends, I was able to plan, create, and launch The Writer's Loft, a low-residency certificate in creative writing at MTSU.

  • Crypto Tech Operator (CTO)
    I served in the United States Navy from January 1986 to February 1990 as a Cryptologic Technician Operator (CTO). In plain English, that translates to a lot of high-tech intelligence-related technical duties.
