Well, well, well: wasn't that fun? Just spent 3.5 hours on the roads, trying to get home. Left the office at 4:30. Walked in the door at 8 p.m. As the map shows, the bad weather has left. I am at the red dot at this moment. (Note: you may need to click the image to see a readable copy of the map.) Normally, it takes me about 45 minutes to get home. So, this was a new experience. As I crept through downtown Nashville, I just looked at the train station, at all those people standing on the platform, waiting for their relaxing ride home. I have got to get my butt in gear and get serious about this mass transit thing.
The thing that stands out the most in my mind from this afternoon's/evening's road adventures is how mean all of the drivers were to one another. No: not mean. Rude. Plain and simple rudeness. Cutting one another off. Refusing to cut one's fellow man (and woman) even the slightest bit of slack. Lots of monster trees blown over this evening, blocking the roads. On my way home were two monster trees totally blocking my lane(s), power outages (i.e.: no traffic lights), and an accident at a major intersection. Trifecta of commuter late arrival!
